How is BeamStarter different from other launchpads? Why is Moonbeam Network a better option than others to launch a cross-chain launchpad?
A quick analysis of the current launchpad market and it’s key unresolved issues
As of today, there are many launchpads in the crypto market, from small scale to the biggest ones such as Polkastarter. The launchpads have evolved a lot since the term “launchpad” was flipped somewhere in mid-2020. Crypto has also seen all sorts of launchpads — some underpromise and overdeliver while some did the opposite. A few just vanished in thin air and left its supporters and investors in shock.
A few key issues/improvements stay the same throughout the evolution of launchpads:
- Timely Liquidity Add and Token Distribution
This comes with no surprise as one of the main issues reported by IDO participants. Despite a successful IDO, it’s more than often that projects fail to add liquidity on time. More importantly, they fail to distribute tokens on time to its investors that results in poor experience of a participant. Even a few seconds delay can turn a successful story upside down. A lot of people we spoke with experienced the same — a project does 50–100x at launch but IDO participants got their tokens late and all those gains were gone. But there are better ways to manage both — liquidity adding and token distribution!
2. Either no or weak governance of launchpads
This is a major issue in the current launchpad structure. Their communities are not involved in any decision making. The decisions are usually made by a few people — from sourcing a project to conducting an IDO. There is a need for a strong governance model that can keep communities engaged and involved with a launchpad which would result in better project sourcing as well as greater gains for all stakeholders! 3. No user-friendly cross-bridge solution
We all know that multi-chain is the future. All projects would eventually launch on multiple blockchains to capture a greater share of the market. This makes a cross-chain feature an essential part of a project launch. 4. No real Polkadot usage
We have so many launchpads and projects in the market using Polkadot in their product roadmap but a very very few projects actually leverage security offered by Polkadot. BeamStarter would be one of those very projects that is going to leverage solid security functionalities offered by Polkadot. This makes BeamStarter secure and safe for projects as well as investors.

Launching a project is a big deal, even for seasoned professionals, in a traditional market.
